The product’s inception will be driven by the PM/PMM, who will first drive the development of the product’s strategy. They will gather market research, customer feedback and stakeholder input — and arrive at a strategic plan for the product.
Concurrently, the PM/PMM will be responsible for educating the marketing team, ensuring they know the target customer and user personas, and help inform the development of the tools and campaigns that the company will use to introduce and sell this product to the market.
Role and Responsibilities
Gathering all market information and customer insights (working cross functionally with other verticals like PM, Marketing, CS and Game.
Building MRDs and owning detailed PRDs
Working up detailed user/customer/buyer personas
Developing product pricing strategies and structures (working with Fit Tech senior management and cross company with strategy)
Developing and managing the product roadmap
Managing the product backlog and working agile
Synthesizing all internal and external stakeholder input on features and priorities
Performing win/loss analyses
Conducting competitive research
Implementing and then analyzing customer surveys (through cross functional resources)
Input into the creation of sales and marketing tools (with marketing and creative/brand)
Working with public relations team
Creating and delivering training for sales and support
Key Skills & Experience
Significant experience gained in consumer goods within a Product Manager or equivalent is essential for this role
As such has a comprehensive understanding of the market, our customers, our end consumers and our competitors
Ideally, some experience launching at least one hardware or connected device project
An analytical mindset, able to disseminate key trends, market research and consumer feedback to create best in class consumer products
Demonstrable experience of managing the “‘whole picture’ – able to combine the various disciplines of Marketing, Product Development, Sales and Tech to deliver our product strategy on time and budget
Experience of working in or the ability to thrive in a startup environment and be a key player in helping us achieve global success
Ability to communicate with all areas of the business, bridging tech and non-tech stakeholders
A degree in Business or Marketing preferred (but other degree disciplines considered).
Experience of working in the fitness industry or a passion for sport advantageous but not essential
