Bitmovin is seeking an exceptional VP of Finance to join one of the fastest growing tech startups, in the massively growing market of online video, with the mission to shape the future of video. As the VP of Finance, you’ll be an integral part of the leadership team, directly reporting to the CEO and board, and efficiently scaling a finance organization. The ideal candidate will combine both strategic thinking and a track record of running a best in class finance organization in a B2B SaaS business, but we are generally searching for motivated and smart finance executives with experience and willingness to learn. The responsibility of the finance organization encompasses the company’s forecasts, planning processes, management and Board reporting, billing and collection process, accounting, payroll, external auditing, and financial partnership to the rest of the organization. This role in particular requires a strong understanding of B2B enterprise sales as well as SaaS metrics, and how to manage against them, helping operators uncover hidden insights and translating them into actions.
Responsibilities Financial Strategy:
Be a strategic partner to the leadership team who proactively contributes to the companies success
Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships across the business. Help the company understand how all the pieces fit together and drive performance.
Building a world-class integrated B2B SaaS financial metric monitoring and reporting infrastructure, that allows us to move quickly, with a high degree of accuracy and predictability
Design company wide financial strategy, plan and budget
Manage and grow a top of class team in the areas of FP&A, accounting, business operations, collections, payroll and public grants
Manage outsourced services, and grow our inhouse capabilities
Be a strategic advisor across all functions, enabling every function to perform against metrics and budget
Work with the other teams on defining and prioritizing new markets and new product investments
Provide frameworks, models, and business cases to guide capital allocation decisions as well as strategic investments or acquisitions.
Responsibilities Accounting, Audits, Tax, Treasury and Financing:
Manage the accounting and compliance across the national and international locations of the company, including compliance to GAAP, IFRS and national accounting standards.
Monitor cash closely and proactively address variances from plan. Ensure appropriate and controlled cash disbursements. Analyze future cash requirements so that financing needs are addressed in a timely manner.
Closely support the CEO in the process of raising equity and/or debt capital in the best terms possible for the company.
Manage audits end-to-end, including vendor selection and ongoing communication with auditors, tax advisors and 3rd party professional service providers.
Manage tax strategy (internal pricing strategies with subsidiaries, corporate tax provisions, R&D tax credits, and securing other tax incentives as the business grows).
Manage corporate policies, procedures and controls, including making policy decisions, managing capitalization table and stock options, benefits programs, insurance/liability strategies and management of all corresponding 3rd party vendors.
Highly operational leader who can own the full spectrum of Finance responsibilities for a top-tier SaaS startup. Fluency in “B2B” and “SaaS” is required.
10+ years of financial leadership experience, some of which were in mid to senior level positions responsible for financial planning, analysis, and accounting, with 1+ years as a finance leader / VP Finance position.
Experience in growth stage startups is a plus
Profile emphasizing FP&A, strategic planning, and extensive operational involvement with the leadership team and board
Strong background in financial modeling, problem solving, and building systems and frameworks that enable growth
You possess outstanding written, oral, and presentation skills and can communicate complex financial matters to broad audiences. You understand GAAP, IFRS and key accounting principles.
Experienced in raising VC financing
Track record of driving business insights, actions, and accountability across organizations
